Glassrooms have experience working in city centres all over the world, where access is pretty limited and risks is high due to the number of surrounding buildings and passing public. The project undertaken with the Shankly Hotel in Liverpool was aimed at modernising the look of the building and its reception areas, along with securing a new rooftop terrace, enabling guests to enjoy the summer air and relax.
Over the last 5 years Glassrooms have seen a rapid increase in university accommodation and student hall projects all over the UK. Our ability to provide high rated, energy efficient products combined with cost effectiveness and working to tight deadlines has proven to be a huge success.
The Grange project provided an excellent challenge for the GlassRooms team. Working closely with other trades and designers we set to integrating contemporary glass technologies with traditional steel materials. The design criteria needed to maximise working space below the canopy allowing for a more efficient restaurant layout. The design created a light and sheltered space which expanded the business to cater for rainy days and cleverly managed excess water out of sight-line.
Commercial projects set in the public (and excitable) environment always present new challenges. Chester Race Course was no exception. Replacing an 80's design with something fit for the 21st century. Light, Solar Control, Environmental Management and Servicing to name but a few of the many factors that make a project like this a success.
Integrating glass into a restaurant environment provides not only clean design lines but also effective clean and hygienic surfaces to manage. Stains and spills quickly remedied. This fabulous venue is really worth a visit to taste the food as well as see some of our work!
